Job Location Other College / Division TXST Global Department / School Department of Communication Studies Position Description The Department of Communication Studies at Texas State University invites applications for a Lecturer in our Accelerated Online Program. This position will involve teaching two classes per 8-week semester (4 classes per semester). Summer teaching is optional but preferred, and includes additional compensation. Candidates should be able to teach any of the courses in our accelerated online program, including foundations of human communication, communication theory, health communication, public speaking, persuasion, interpersonal communication, communication and conflict, small group communication, organizational communication, rhetorical methods, empirical methods, communication and leadership, and intercultural communication. Required Qualifications A master’s degree in communication or communication studies. Experience teaching at least one of the courses in our online curriculum. Experience teaching at least one online course. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching more than one of the courses in our online curriculum. Experience teaching more than one online course. A demonstrated record of professional development related to online teaching best practices and/or instructional design. Experience using the Canvas learning management system.
