Assistant Professor of Information Systems Job Posting Number: 2026084TTL Position Description The Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Texas State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning fall 2026. The selected applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research relevant to information systems, leading to peer-reviewed scholarly publications, particularly with applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), modern Machine Learning (ML), and similar technologies to solve business problems. The selected applicant will also be expected to teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses, especially in applied AI, modern ML, and software development, and to perform service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. The required candidate must have a Ph.D., D.B.A., or be ABD from an internationally accredited institution with a business-related area in information systems, management information systems, computer information systems, information technology, or computer science. ABD candidates are expected to successfully defend their dissertation by the date of hire and must have an active business-related research agenda in AI/ML. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited business school. Previous research experience in AI/ML applications in business. Previous teaching experience in applied AI, ML, and/or software development. Evidence of effective teaching. Experience with application programming interfaces (API) of AI-powered language models such as ChatGPT, Claude.ai, and Google Gemini.
