Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and efficient Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team with a focus on high quality rent-ready unit turns. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the quality, safety, and livability of all military housing unit assignments. Your work helps ensure homes are move-in ready on schedule and meet the standards of the Department of Public Works.

Key Responsibilities

As a Rent-Ready Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Complete 3–5 unit turns per week, adhering to quality and time standards
• Perform general repairs, maintenance, and replacements across building systems
• Troubleshoot and complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs
• Execute rough and trim carpentry tasks (e.g., door adjustments, cabinet repairs, baseboard fixes)
• Conduct appliance installations and minor repairs
• Replace screens, locks, door hardware, closet tracks, and similar components
• Ensure units are clean, safe, functional, and ready for occupancy

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

• Solid understanding of residential building systems
• Experience with rent-ready unit turns and the ability to complete 3–4 units per week
• Competency in minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry (both rough and finish)
• Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Tools & Equipment

• Proficient in the safe and proper use of standard hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, etc.)
• Skilled in using common power tools, including drills, saws, and grinders
• Ability to manage tools and materials efficiently with minimal waste

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration required

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Requires prolonged standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing
• Must be able to safely ascend/descend ladders and stairs
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform repetitive tasks as required by the unit turn process
