Design Manager

Job Description

The Design Manager will lead the design and preconstruction phases of large-scale data center projects from initial planning through construction turnover. This individual will coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. They will manage multiple projects simultaneously, oversee third-party design teams, track design deliverables, facilitate stakeholder reviews, and partner closely with Construction Managers throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, balance shifting priorities, and keep complex projects moving forward.

Skills and Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Design Management

• Experience managing design efforts for large commercial or mission-critical construction projects

• Experience leading projects through preconstruction and design phases

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

• Advanced experience in Excel, Smartsheets and/or AutoCAD

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline • Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP design background

• Data center design or construction experience

• Experience with Design-Build, IPD, or Construction Management delivery methods

Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data center projects
