The LA Y operates 29 Centers and over 200 program sites across LA County.POSITION SUMMARYThe YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles’ Director of Volunteerism and Fundraising reports to the Executive Director/Operations Executive Director. The Director of Volunteerism and Fundraising will be charged with supporting advancement financial services activities at the Center level and will also serve as administrative support. This role will help to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through administrative functions in gift processing and stewardship. The Director of Volunteerism and Fundraising will be responsible for aiding in the successful administration of fundraising activities with responsibilities including but not limited to clerical support, office administration, accounts payable/receivable, special events assistance, and general administration duties. This role will require for the individual to be motivated, dynamic, and effective in establishing and strengthening relationships across the association.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSADVANCEMENT FINANCIAL SERVICESAssist with collecting, securing, and realizing donor pledges and contributionsAssist with creating fundraising assets such as letters, appeals, emails, mailings, etc.Serve as support staff for the board of managers in providing lists, leads, letters, and coordinating meetings with new board members and donorsAssist with board meetings and committees to speak on and keep notes around fundraising efforts and board developmentServe as special events and member engagement lead efforts and projectsKeep records and provide reports of fundraising efforts and goalsSupport the administration of The Raiser’s Edge (RE) (to research donors and make notes) and Luminate Online (LO) databasesCreate, implement, and manage procedures/best practices for proper use of RE and LOPerform ongoing work to clean up, organize, and properly code constituent and gift data to maintain a clean RE databaseStay up to date with advances and revisions of RE and LO software and required hardwareFollow up with donors with thank you notes and impact reportsResearch available grants and work with the mission advancement team to apply for grants with the Eds review and approvalCreate innovative displays and marketing materials to engage members and communities in annual campaigns appealLead and coordinate the Staff & Teams campaignsOwn all reporting and forms related to fundraising and allocationsProvide biweekly reports to ED with updated fundraising informationMeet and introduce prospective individual donors and corporate sponsors to the EDHelp secure corporate sponsorships for annual fundraising events such as Stair ClimbLead registration and communication efforts for all fundraising eventsManage all logistics and procurement efforts fundraising eventsMaintain fundraising data so it can be easily used for prospect management, donor cultivation and stewardship, fundraising appeals, and other communicationsPerform stewardship activities including generating and mailing gift acknowledgements and pledge remindersProduce financial and fundraising reports to serve as analytical fundraising tools for Centers and Metro monthly and as needed.ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORTProvide a full range of administrative, clerical, and department support including but not limited to:Logistical support for meetings or events (room reservations, food orders, materials, set-up and AV, etc.)Mail merges and other communicationsVendor invoices and expense reportsAll other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESDemonstrated understanding of fundraising databases and best practices in their use and managementHighly developed organizational and time-management skills, ability to effectively multi-taskStrong attention to detailStrong oral ExpertiseDeveloping Self & OthersMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAGE: 21 years or olderEDUCATION:• A High School Diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferredRELATED EXPERIENCE:Three years of increasing responsibility and experience in a fast-paced office environment preferredTwo or more years of supervisory experience.Experience managing budgets and multiple program areas preferred.• Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferredSPECIALIZED SKILLS:Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.Highly developed organizational and time- management skills required; proficient in Microsoft Office programsExperience with program development, budgeting, staff supervision, and community partnerships.Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and youth
