We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support core accounting operations and revenue reporting for a SaaS business in Seattle, Washington. This is a Contract position focused on subscription revenue, contract review, and month-end close, with an emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. The role works closely with cross-functional partners to ensure billing, contract terms, and revenue treatment are reflected correctly across financial records. This individual will also help strengthen accounting processes through improvements, automation, and participation in system-related initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate software subscription, licensing, and services agreements to determine appropriate revenue treatment in accordance with ASC 606.

• Oversee the accuracy of contract and billing records across accounting and invoicing platforms, ensuring data remains current and reliable.

• Coordinate timely and precise invoice generation based on agreed commercial terms and billing schedules.

• Prepare reconciliations and account analyses for revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and related balance sheet accounts.

• Maintain monthly rollforwards for deferred revenue and contract assets, aligning recognition schedules, billing activity, and the general ledger.

• Investigate revenue fluctuations, unusual transactions, and contract changes such as renewals, expansions, and modified arrangements.

• Contribute to the monthly close by recording journal entries, completing reconciliations, and performing cutoff procedures for accurate period reporting.

• Support financial reporting deliverables by preparing analysis, variance explanations, and audit-ready documentation.

• Partner with Sales Operations, Customer Success, RevOps, and Finance leaders to resolve contract, billing, and revenue recognition questions.

• Assist with process enhancements, automation efforts, and system implementation activities that improve efficiency and scalability within finance.

Ideally, this is a hybrid role, 3 days on site in Seattle, however, candidates in the Pacific time zone will also be considered. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

• Demonstrated experience managing month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance review.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles under ASC 606, particularly within a SaaS or subscription-based environment.
• Hands-on background working with general ledger accounting, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue accounts.
• Ability to review contracts and translate commercial terms into appropriate accounting and billing treatment.
• Experience supporting audits and preparing organized financial documentation and supporting schedules.
• Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, trends, and process gaps.
• Familiarity with business process improvement, automation initiatives, or system implementation projects within accounting or finance.
• Working knowledge of accruals, allocations, and cost analysis in an accounting environment.
