Travel ICU RN (13‑week assignment) – Location: Facility in Gillette, Wyoming. Job Details Company: Fusion Medical Staffing. Assignment length: 13 weeks. Travel position – competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an ICU RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications. Preferred Qualifications Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification. TNCC, NIHSS certification. Other certifications or licenses may be required. Responsibilities Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition. Administer complex medications and treatments according to approved critical care nursing techniques. Operate and manage advanced life‑support equipment. Ensure patient safety and comfort in high‑acuity ICU environments; address physical and emotional needs. Record significant conditions, reactions, and interventions; notify the appropriate provider of changes in patient status. Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, and pulmonary artery catheters. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in a timely manner. Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recovery expectations. Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care. Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies through ongoing education and training. Adhere to strict infection control protocols to protect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks. Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned within scope. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Proficiency with PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel. Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation, push/pull, and assistance with procedures or equipment. Mental resilience to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle irregular schedules. Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
