The Opportunity

As part of the comprehensive clinical care team at Hinge Health, health coaches utilize their behavior change expertise to impact members across the MSK, GI, pelvic health and healthcare spectrum, via telehealth video visits and in-app messaging. We believe in applying the Biopsychosocial model, evidence-informed practice, and innovative thinking with technology to help members reduce pain and achieve meaningful outcomes. Through our technology-first platform, Hinge Health health coaches improve the lives of many at scale. The role is called “Flex Associate Health Coach” for a reason - your flexibility and resilience is critical! You thrive in situations requiring you to constantly adapt and evolve. Change is not a scary word to you, and you want to continually improve yourself, your profession, and healthcare as a whole.

Our Flex hour model: As a non-exempt employee, you will be scheduled to work between 25-40 hours/week (with optional overtime if offered), which fluctuates depending on member needs. You will be notified of your schedule outlook at least one month in advance and fully confirmed 2 weeks in advance.

You embrace technology-forward care delivery, utilizing telehealth, in-app messaging, and a variety of digital tools to serve members at significant scale.

What You'll Accomplish

Deliver time-bound, goal-driven, impactful coaching through a series of video visits focused on behavior change, habit formation, and lifestyle adjustments that support members' health goals and adherence to their care plan. Supplement video visits with personalized, goal-oriented in-app messaging that reinforces progress and maintains continuity between sessions.

Leverage the Hinge Health technology platform to make strategic, effective coaching decisions that drive health goal attainment and meaningful member outcomes.

Collaborate within the care team to ensure a seamless, coordinated member experience and respond to clinician referrals for coaching services. Accurately complete all required processes and updates in the member journey, including video visit notes and clinical escalations.

Build strong relationships and rapport with members. Listen to and adapt to each member's unique circumstances, supporting them in staying accountable to their goals, healthy lifestyle changes, while keeping members focused and engaged within Hinge Health activities.

As the front line of our product and member experience, critically assess our coaching approaches, synthesize and relay member trends, insights and feedback to the Product and Clinical Operations teams.

Who You Are

Member-Centered Mindset:

High emotional intelligence and top tier coaching skills to help members understand their relationship to movement and connect them to the Hinge Health program in a meaningful manner. Excellent communicator via live interactions (video visits) and asynchronous in-app messaging.

Quality at Scale:

Track record of delivering high quality coaching to a large caseload, consistently meeting metrics for coaching quality, member outcomes, and efficiency.

Adaptability & Initiative:

Demonstrates change agility and a growth mindset amidst ongoing coaching practice and program changes in a fast-paced environment. High aptitude for technology, troubleshooting, and learning new features and tools.

AI-Enabled Care:

Comfortable working alongside AI-powered tools while maintaining personalized, human-centered communication. Critically evaluates AI-generated outputs, applies professional judgment, and ensures the member experience reflects highest quality standards.

Basic Qualifications

NBHWC Board Certification and professional Health Coach training from an NBHWC-accredited program required

2+ years experience in health coaching

Experience with large caseloads

Demonstrated prior experience working with behavior change or chronic disease management, including but not limited to MSK, GI, diabetes, weight loss & nutrition, mental health

Must be able to deliver telehealth services in a private, professional space with reliable, strong internet connectivity and within the United States

Serve as a visible member of our care team, which requires your name and photograph/likeness to appear in our product and associated marketing materials

Current and foreseeable future state of residence within: [list all Tier 3/4 states regardless of time zone]

This role requires you to work within the designated hours of 7am - 9pm PST (regardless of your location).

Ability to work evenings (4pm and later within designated hours)

Preferred Qualifications

Able to work weekends

Additional certifications in orthopedics, pain science, women's health or related specialties

Medical fluency in Spanish (written and verbal)
