Role Description This full-time Loan Officer role is a on-site position based in Troy, MI, with flexibility for some work from home. The Loan Officer will consult with prospective borrowers, assess their financial profiles, and recommend suitable mortgage products aligned with their needs. Daily responsibilities include collecting and verifying documentation, guiding applicants through the loan process, and communicating clearly about rates, terms, and requirements. The role involves coordinating with underwriters, processors, and other internal team members to move applications efficiently from pre-qualification to closing. The Loan Officer will also build and maintain referral relationships, follow up with leads, and adhere to all regulatory and company compliance standards while providing a high level of customer service. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, evaluate creditworthiness, and match borrowers with appropriate loan products. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex mortgage concepts in clear, accessible language. Experience managing multiple loan files, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and loan origination systems or similar financial software. Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, real estate partners, and internal teams. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to responsible lending practices. Previous experience as a Loan Officer, Mortgage Consultant, or in a related financial services role is preferred. Relevant state licensing and/or registration as a mortgage loan originator, or eligibility and willingness to obtain required credentials.
