NP, PA, CNM - OBGYN - Cary

Overview Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, physician partners, and APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed. The position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations. Completion of referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post procedure care, prescribing, and patient care follow-ups. Work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize patient care. Serve as an educator for PA/NP/CNM students from healthcare education programs. Maintain scope of practice consistent with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing and other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as WakeMed policies. Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice, reviewed annually during the review process. Understand the needs of the organization and support the mission, values, and management of WakeMed. Licensure Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (with valid nursing licensure) required. DEA registration required. Basic Life Support required within 6 months of hire. Education Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant required. Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing or Midwifery required. Experience 1 year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife preferred.
