Bell Attendant

Post Ranch Inn , the world renowned hotel in Big Sur, is looking for qualified candidates to apply forour full time Bell Attendant position. JOB OBJECTIVE: As a member of Post Ranch Inn, the Bell Attendant will work directly with the Guest Relations team to ensure a world-class guest experience through providing a courteous, attentive, and consistent level of service to all current and prospective guests. The Bell Attendant is responsible for warmly welcoming guests upon arrival, assisting with luggage and transportation, escorting guests to and from their accommodations, and providing knowledgeable information about the property and surrounding area. Additionally, the Bell Attendant will assist with guest requests, deliveries, vehicle coordination, and other operational needs while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, privacy, and discretion. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Greet and welcome all arriving and departing guests with the utmost courtesy and politeness Assistguests with luggage upon arrival, departure, and throughout their stay as requested Safely transport guest luggage, packages, and personal belongings to and from guest rooms, vehicles, and designated areas Escort guests to their accommodations and provide a warm and informative orientation to the room and property Explain room features, property amenities, facilities, services, and hours of operation Maintain a detailed knowledge of the property, including guest rooms, restaurants, spa, recreation areas, parking, trails, and other facilities Maintain current knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, activities, transportation options, and points of interest in order to provide recommendations and directions to guests Assist with guest transportation needs, including coordinating vehicles, and other transportation services Maintain accurate vehicle logs and follow all property procedures regarding guest vehicles Inspect guest vehicles and immediately report any existing or newly observed damage according to established procedures Communicate guest arrivals, departures, requests, and pertinent information to Guest Relations and other departments via radio and/or telephone Maintain a verbal relationship with all departments to ensure guest requests and operational needs are communicated and addressed promptly Assist the Front Desk and Guest Relations teams with special requests, amenities, deliveries, and other guest needs Ensure luggage carts, umbrellas, radios, flashlights, and other bell equipment are clean, organized, and in good working condition Assist with maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the hotel entrance, porte-cochère, lobby, and surrounding guest arrival areas Monitor guest arrival and departure areas and maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional appearance at all times Maintain a high level of awareness regarding guest privacy, security, and personal belongings Immediately report lost and found items according to established property procedures Maintain property protocols and standards at all times Adhere to all safety and emergency policies and procedures, as well as all rules and regulations according to the Post Ranch Inn Employee Handbook Other duties as assigned ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS: Always maintain a high level of guest privacy and discretion General understanding of property, protocols, customer service, and etiquette Effective verbal and written communication skills in English Dealing successfully with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record Must be able to communicate radio transmissions intermittently Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and push, and reach with hands and arms Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
