Surgical Tech Position at Mass General Outpatient Surgical Center

The Mass General Outpatient Surgical Center in Waltham is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the team. Competitive pay, great benefits, and free parking are offered. The position is for Monday through Friday days shift. The Surgical Tech II will scrub for surgical procedures and perform other duties related to the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment and assist with the peri-operative care of patients.

Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in various surgical procedures and playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room. Duties also include preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, setting up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment, transporting patients to the operating room, helping with positioning on the surgical table, passing instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team, following proper sterilization techniques, maintaining accurate documentation of surgical procedures, collaborating effectively with the surgical team, and assisting in preparing the surgical site.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting for 2-3 years, and knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies. Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is preferred.

The work location is 52 Second Avenue, with a scheduled weekly hours of 40. The work shift is day. The pay range is $31.98 - $47.85/hourly.
