Receiver

Description We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and organized Receiver to support the daily operations of a high-volume, high-end steakhouse located in Midtown Manhattan. The Receiver is responsible for accepting, inspecting, documenting, organizing, and properly storing all food, beverage, and operating supply deliveries. This position plays an essential role in maintaining product quality, inventory accuracy, food safety, and efficient kitchen operations. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, communicates effectively with vendors and restaurant leadership, and understands the importance of accuracy, timeliness, and proper product handling in a professional restaurant environment. Verify deliveries against purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and established specifications. Accurately complete receiving paperwork, invoices, temperature logs, and other required documentation. Inspect products for quality, freshness, proper temperature, quantity, packaging, and signs of damage or spoilage. Record shortages, substitutions, damaged goods, incorrect items, and rejected products. Communicate delivery discrepancies and product-quality concerns promptly to the designated manager. Follow NYC Department of Health requirements and all restaurant food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures. Follow direction and contribute to a professional, respectful kitchen culture Requirements Every delivery must be inspected carefully, documented accurately, and stored properly.
