Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS - Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: Progressive Care Unit with 44 beds. Staff consists of 95 members. Day shift includes 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Night shift includes 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Patient ratios are 4:1 at grid and 5:1 stretched. Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system is Cerner. Typical procedures include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump use, IV infusions, lumbar drain management, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusion. Ideal candidates are team players and patient-focused. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Position created due to a vacant position.
