Opening 2026 | Hiring Timeline: Spring–Summer 2026 Radiology Technician Responsibilities As a Veterinary Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in advanced imaging workflows, anesthesia support, and diagnostic accuracy. Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care Prepare and position patients for: MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) CT (Computed Tomography) Digital radiography (X-ray) Ensure image quality, accuracy, and proper positioning Maintain patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures Collaborate with radiologists to support efficient case flow Anesthesia & Monitoring Perform advanced anesthesia induction, intubation, and monitoring for imaging procedures Monitor patients using: ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry Blood pressure (IBP/NIBP) Temperature regulation Adjust anesthetic depth for short-duration and high-risk cases Recognize and respond to anesthetic complications Radiation Safety & Equipment Management Follow strict radiation safety protocols and compliance standards Ensure proper use of PPE and shielding Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory guidelines Critical Care Collaboration Partner with ER and ICU teams for imaging support of critical patients Assist with stabilization prior to imaging when needed Participate in CPR/code response (RECOVER guidelines preferred) Clinical Excellence Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation Ensure proper case tracking and workflow coordination Support a clean, organized, and efficient imaging suite Follow hospital protocols and best practices Who We're Looking For Required Experience 2+ years of experience in specialty, ER, ICU, or high-acuity veterinary practice Strong Background Anesthesia monitoring and patient care Experience with diagnostic imaging and positioning Advanced monitoring equipment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment Preferred Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credentials (highly valued, not required) MRI and/or CT imaging Specialty imaging departments Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols RECOVER CPR certification Advanced training in anesthesia or ECC Who Thrives in This Role Highly detail-oriented with strong technical precision Calm and focused in a fast-paced environment Passionate about diagnostic imaging and patient safety A collaborative team player who communicates clearly Motivated to grow in a specialty referral environment What We Offer Continuing Education That Matches Your Ambition Dogwood invests heavily in technician development: $3,000 annual CE allowance 2 paid CE PTO days annually Support for advanced certifications (VTS, ECC, anesthesia, specialty focus) Opportunities to refine skills alongside boarded specialists Compensation & Full-Time Benefits Competitive pay based on imaging, anesthesia, and ECC experience Headstart student loan repayment assistance for Licensed Veterinary Technicians who have completed an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology and passed the VTNE in the last 3 years.
