Director of Alliance Management, Oncology R&D

AstraZeneca seeks a Director of Alliance Management for its Oncology R&D division to lead complex pharmaceutical partnerships and collaborations. The role involves managing strategic relationships with external partners, overseeing contract obligations, and driving alliance management strategy across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing business relationships with priority and complex oncology alliance partners
• Oversee operational aspects including governance committees, communications, and contract achievement tracking
• Serve as primary contact for partners and resolve contractual or business-related disputes
• Review, negotiate, and execute contract renewals, amendments, and transition service agreements
• Develop alliance management strategy, tools, systems, and methodologies for the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences; MBA or graduate degree preferred
• 10+ years pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience
• 5+ years in legal, finance, contracts, business development, or R&D roles
• Deep knowledge of drug development processes in pharmaceutical organizations
• Ability to translate complex contracts into strategic and operational plans
• Experience managing inbound and outbound licensing asset transitions
• Strong issue resolution and relationship management skills
