Job Description and Duties

Looking for innovative, impactful work in a fast-evolving industry? The Department of Cannabis Control is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Supervisor I to support Division-wide budget, contracting, and procurement functions that help advance California’s cannabis regulatory framework.

Under the general direction of the Supervisor II of the Admin Office (Office), part of the Compliance Division (Division) within the Department of Cannabis Control (Department), the Supervisor I of the Procurement Unit (Unit) will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing, the workload of professional and technical staff completing administrative and operational support functions for the Division.

What you'll do:

Supervise

Provide guidance and technical assistance to Unit Staff. Review workload with subordinates providing input, suggestions, feedback and support. Supervising staff in the administrative liaison functions for the Division such as, personnel, purchasing, contracts, facilities, inventory, budgets, and accounting.

Oversight

Monitor the Division's expenditures and oversee the development and implementation of tracking systems for all the Division expenditures, creating monthly projections, and Division fund balance.

Operations

Plan and oversee the most difficult, complex and sensitive operational assignments. Assign statewide projects, establish priorities, and monitor work progress based on Division directives related to the operational functions such as communication devices, settlement reimbursement, equipment coordination and accountability, records management, and statistical reports.

Special Requirements

Conflict of Interest (COI) - This position is subject to COI Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st, and within 30 days of leaving office.
