We are seeking an experienced, highly productive Software Engineer to design and develop algorithms, simulations, and visualization tools for autonomous robotics. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cutting-edge technologies for prototype systems. You will engage in the full software process—from concept to design and demonstration—leading dynamic project teams and integrating innovative ideas from various fields. You’ll be part of a team tackling critical robotics challenges, with the opportunity to see your ideas control robots in demanding environments.Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or related field  At least 5 years of industry experience in advanced software development in a team environment  Programming experience in C++ programming languageExperience developing plugins with modern Gazebo simulation software Experience using one or more development toolsExperience writing algorithmic code, including complexity analysis, performance optimization, and multithreading  US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED; Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Desired QualificationsAdvanced degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, applied math, or related field  Experience with Gazebo 11 and/or Gazebo JettySignificant experience programming in C++ 17 or later C++ versionUnderstanding of modeling vehicle motion (boats/submarines/aerial vehicles).Experience in advanced algorithm integration and/or data analytics applications  Experience with additional programming languagesExperience in software validation and testing Experience in Probability/Statistics, Linear Algebra, Multivariate Calculus  Position Location: Reston, VA*The selected individual(s) will be required to work from the Reston, VA office.
