Accounting Manager

Job Description

KP Aviation , an international supplier and procurer of aftermarket aviation components and assets, is searching for the next key member of our team! The Accounting GL Manager is critical to the Accounting/Finance department, with primary ownership of the general ledger and the accuracy of the company's financial records. The position performs in-depth account analysis, financial reporting, and asset accounting to ensure accuracy, and works closely with the Treasury Manager on cash, banking, and liquidity-related general ledger activity. The position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, performing journal entries, assisting with periodic close and budgeting processes, conducting internal audits, compiling reports, and maintaining documentation related to compliance and audits. Performs any other requests or duties as assigned by management.

Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities:

\n

\n

\n
• Reviews and maintains financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
\n
• Oversees account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts with the help of Senior Accountants.
\n
• Oversees and performs general accounting functions related to monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
\n
• Partners closely with the Treasury Manager on cash positioning, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related general ledger activity.
\n
• Maintains the integrity of the chart of accounts and general ledger account structure.
\n
• Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations and makes adjusting journal entries.
\n
• Performs monthly analytical reviews of financial statements and recommends improvements or adjustments, as needed.
\n
• Calculates and records accruals, in addition to reconciling actuals for internal accounts, including taxes.
\n
• Participates in inter-department and ad-hoc projects on behalf of the Accounting/Finance department.
\n
• Responds to information requests, reviews financial statements, and assists with audits.
\n
• Ensures compliance with internal controls, company procedures, and GAAP.
\n
• Conducts internal audits and internal control evaluations, as well as supportive in external financial audits and inventory appraisals.
\n
• Demonstrates resourcefulness, skill to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
\n
• Maintains confidentiality and a high level of professionalism throughout all aspects and responsibilities.
\n
• Provides accurate and timely information to customers and internal parties.
\n
• Responds to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
\n
• Communicates with customers and representatives of internal departments in a professional manner.
\n
• Establishes, develops, and maintains long-lasting customer relationships.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

• Strong Knowledge and Ability to apply accounting principles, procedures, and methods
\n
• Knowledge of general ledger posting processes and general accounting transactions
\n
• Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepting Accounting Principles)
\n
• Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office applications and general computer literacy
\n
• Strong skills in presenting information and effective communication
\n
• Skill in verbal and written communication
\n
• Skill in problem solving, numeracy, and decision making/analysis
\n
• Skill in analyzing data and modifying reporting procedures to ensure accuracy and transparency
\n
• Ability to lead others, while effectively managing the workload of multiple individuals in the department

Education, Experience, and Certification:

\n

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
\n
• CPA or MBA certification preferred
\n
• Minimum of seven to ten years of related accounting experience required
\n
• Progressive experience in accounting and supervising others preferred
\n
• Experience working in a multilevel/multiple entity company preferred
\n
• Experience working within Salesforce, Avsight, or Microsoft Office 365 preferred
\n
