Technology Integration Specialist

Position Type: Computer Technology / Technology Operations Manager Location: Central Office Date Posted: 6/24/2026 Job Purpose The Technology Integration Specialist supports effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning across all K‑12 schools within the district. This role involves providing professional development, technical support, and instructional guidance to teachers, administrators, and staff to help them integrate technology tools and resources into their curriculum and pedagogical practices. The Specialist acts as a bridge between technology and educational goals, ensuring technology initiatives align with district objectives and learning outcomes. Duties and Responsibilities Design, deliver, and facilitate professional development workshops, sessions, and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff on the effective use of educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., learning management systems, educational apps, interactive software, productivity tools, digital resources). Provide one‑on‑one coaching and small‑group support to educators as they integrate technology into their classroom instruction. Develop and maintain online learning resources, tutorials, and guides related to technology integration. Stay current with emerging educational technologies and best practices in technology integration. Collaborate with curriculum directors, specialists, instructional coaches, other district‑level academic administrators, and department heads to identify opportunities for technology integration within district‑approved curriculum standards and learning objectives. Assist district‑level administration in evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate technology tools to meet approved district instructional initiatives. Support the creation and use of digital content and online learning experiences. Promote digital citizenship, media literacy, and responsible technology use among students and staff in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Provide advanced‑level technical support related to educational software and online platforms used in classrooms and administrative settings. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and escalation to the IT support team when necessary. Help manage and maintain district‑wide educational software licenses and accounts. Contribute to the development and implementation of district‑wide technology plans and strategies. Assist in the evaluation and piloting of new educational technology tools and resources. Collaborate with the IT department to ensure technology infrastructure supports educational needs. Help manage the inventory and deployment of educational assistive technology devices across the district. Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and appropriate staff regarding technology initiatives, resources, and support. Participate in district meetings, committees, and professional learning communities related to technology and education. Build positive relationships with school staff to foster a collaborative environment for technology integration. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred. Experience Successful experience integrating technology effectively into classroom instruction. Successful experience providing professional development and training in an educational environment. Preferred: Experience providing technical support for educational hardware and software. Knowledge Deep expertise and knowledge in instructional and informational technology. Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications used in instructional settings. Knowledge of the Professional Learning Community process and foundational concepts. Knowledge of innovation in education. Knowledge of modern pedagogical approaches. Knowledge of IL School Code requirements and all applicable Federal and State education requirements. Abilities Work effectively with diverse groups of individuals, including employees, parents, students, and external entities. Lead and facilitate group processes. Conceptualize, launch, and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget. Work in a fast‑paced, high‑performing, sometimes unpredictable environment. Work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong work ethic, self‑motivation, and initiative. Resolve problems without direction. Organize large amounts of information for various audiences. Team‑oriented collaboration. Analyze and interpret data for decision‑making. Translate organizational missions into daily practices. Use effective instructional strategies and techniques. Contribute to overall goals as outlined in the district strategic plan. Assess the effectiveness of programs and activities. Maintain complete and accurate records and develop meaningful reports. Interpret educational policies and procedures. Experience with learning management systems (LMS), specifically Schoology, preferred. Familiarity with educational data privacy and security regulations (e.g., FERPA, SOPPA). Skills Excellent leadership, enthusiasm, and positive interpersonal skills. Identifying and evaluating new technological developments and assessing their appropriateness for the district. Excellent collaboration, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written). Practical problem‑solving and solid troubleshooting skills. Effective and efficient utilization of technology. Desire to learn new things and a growth mindset. Seek and implement constructive feedback. Certifications Illinois Technology Specialist Endorsement or equivalent preferred. Relevant technology certifications (e.g., Google Certified Educator, Microsoft Certified Educator) preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, and walk as needed to meet job duties. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Work under pressure to meet deadlines. Work with frequent distractions and maintain a professional office atmosphere. Travel between school buildings within the district. Stand and sit for extended periods.
