Maintenance Technician

About the Role Pickering & Company is looking for a Multi‑Family Residential Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a team player with experience in multi‑family apartment maintenance and a strong ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. They must be organized, able to multi‑task, and possess excellent customer‑service skills. Required technical experience includes carpentry, general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain CPO and CFC certifications within a reasonable time after employment. Weekends and on‑call availability are required. Responsibilities Maintain community grounds, keeping them clean and free of trash. Complete all work promptly without sacrificing quality. Support resident retention through preventative maintenance, work‑order processing, and move‑in/move‑out turn‑over. Track all community assets. Respond to all after‑hour emergency calls. Address resident service calls promptly. Use electronic devices for tracking and logging work orders and daily email management. Maintain professional behavior and communicate effectively with vendors and residents. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and develop plans to improve efficiency. Be dependable; regular attendance is expected. Be capable of lifting objects that weigh more than 10 lb and perform sometimes strenuous tasks. Provide dependable and reliable transportation. Hold a valid driver’s license. Education & Licenses Valid driver’s license. CFC certification. CPO certification.
