Meade Complex, MD | Draper, UT Pay Plan & Grade Pay Plan: GG Grade: 07/1 to 14/10 Application Dates Open: 2026-07-06 Close: 2026-07-12 Responsibilities NSA’s Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs) support the SIGINT mission by: Analyzing, transcribing, and translating foreign language materials to provide key insights to U.S. policymakers and military leaders. Researching and understanding cultures and geopolitical contexts. Applying new techniques and developing creative solutions for analytic problems, including synthesizing large volumes of data and disparate information. Demonstrating a firm understanding of communications and technology trends. Crafting written and oral assessments that deliver unique insights unavailable from other disciplines. Working independently while collaborating effectively within NSA and with other intelligence community analysts. Job Summary Use your foreign language expertise to advance NSA’s SIGINT mission. Consider the Language Analysis Development Program for an intensive, accelerated learning path, or a direct hire role for immediate contribution. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are: Degree in any field (associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral). Relevant experience in translation, transcription, teaching, or analysis, or in STEM fields, law, journalism, or intelligence studies. Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) level 2/2 proficiency in reading and listening for Chinese. Entry/Developmental: high school diploma or GED + 4 years of relevant experience, or associate’s + 2 years, or bachelor’s + none. Full Performance: high school diploma or GED + 7 years of experience, or associate’s + 5 years, bachelor’s + 3 years, master’s + 1 year, or doctoral + none. Senior: high school diploma or GED + 10 years of experience, or associate’s + 8 years, bachelor’s + 6 years, master’s + 4 years, or doctoral + 2 years. Competencies Proficient in reading and listening to Chinese. Strong written and oral communication skills. Organized, able to handle multiple assignments. Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Experience or knowledge in target development, social network analysis, metadata analysis, research methodology, regional studies, quantitative/statistical analysis, data modeling, cyber security, computer science, or networking. Previous military service with language analysis experience considered. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salaries range from $50,460 to $187,093 depending on education level and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package. Work is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, with an 8‑hour day between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).
