Remote Accounting Supervisor

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Supervisor for a growing, mission-driven organization that provides outsourced accounting services to nonprofit clients. This is a fully remote opportunity with required working hours of Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST. Position Overview The Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in supporting a portfolio of nonprofit clients by delivering high-quality accounting and financial management services. This position blends hands‑on accounting responsibilities with client‑facing communication and team support. Perks Competitive hourly pay rate of $40–$50/hour with opportunity for long‑term conversion Fully remote work environment with a consistent EST schedule Opportunity to support impactful, mission‑driven nonprofit organizations Exposure to financial reporting, audits, and leadership‑level client interaction Collaborative and supportive team environment with growth potential Responsibilities Manage core accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations Prepare and review monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and timely client delivery Analyze financial data and communicate insights to client stakeholders, including leadership teams Support audit preparation, budgeting, grant tracking, and compliance reporting (including 990s and 1099s) Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and issue resolution Provide guidance and oversight to junior accounting staff supporting client accounts Qualifications Strong understanding of GAAP and foundational accounting principles Experience with financial reporting and month‑end close processes Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel Ability to manage multiple clients or priorities simultaneously Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $40–$50/hour.
