Job Title : Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Location: Marshall, MI 49068 Schedule Monday–Friday 40 hours per week Dates of Coverage needed: Current DOP leaving 8/4/26; can start as soon as week of July 27th if cleared Coverage Hours needed: Monday-Friday 40 hours/week Weekend coverage might be needed if other staff unavailable On-call might be needed if other staff unavailable Facility Overview 100 licensed beds Average Daily Census: Approximately 100 outpatient/retail patients Inpatient census in the 50s Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide leadership and operational oversight for the pharmacy department during a leadership transition. This role is responsible for managing pharmacy operations, supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving accountability while maintaining high standards of patient care. The ideal candidate is a strong pharmacy leader with inpatient hospital experience, knowledge of sterile compounding, and the ability to stabilize operations while supporting recruitment efforts. Key Responsibilities Serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for pharmacy staff Supervise a team of 6 pharmacists and 8 pharmacy technicians Oversee daily inpatient pharmacy operations Participate in pharmacy staffing as needed Attend leadership and interdisciplinary meetings Manage departmental financial performance and operational initiatives Ensure compliance with USP <797> , USP <800> , state, and federal regulations Oversee sterile and hazardous compounding operations Provide oversight of the hospital's retail pharmacy (retail staff managed separately) Support recruitment and retention initiatives Represent CPS and foster positive relationships with hospital leadership Participate in weekend and on-call coverage when staffing needs require Required Qualifications Active Michigan Pharmacist License (required) Previous Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager, or comparable leadership experience Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience General knowledge of sterile compounding Experience supervising pharmacy staff Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cerner order entry system Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing systems Knowledge of pharmacy financial management and budgeting Technical support includes: Sterile compounding Hazardous compounding Pyxis automation Medication discrepancy management Start Date Current Director of Pharmacy departs August 4, 2026 Ideal start date: As soon as the week of July 27, 2026, pending credentialing and onboarding Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $75 - $80 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
