(BCCI) through the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or a similar group with the goal of obtaining certification (Preferred within 2 Years) Ecclesiastical Endorsement or Ordination/Commissioning (Required)Work Experience: 3+ years' experience providing spiritual care in clinical hospital setting (Preferred) Experience with end-of-life, trauma, bereavement, pediatric or adult care (Preferred)Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Working knowledge of Windows Operating System Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills Documents all visits and calls in the electronic medical record within the appropriate timeframe Crisis intervention, spiritual care, spiritual assessment, problem solving, critical thinking Ability to provide spiritual leadership and consultation in a high stress environment; work with all levels of the organizationPosition Details/Preferred QualificationsThis Chaplain role is a clinical service for the pediatric palliative care unit, providing last rights, end of life support and family services during profoundly challenging life events for our pediatric patients and families, located in our Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience providing spiritual care in a clinical hospital setting, as well as experience with end-of-life, trauma, or bereavement. Previous work with seriously ill pediatric patients is highly preferred. Must have a master's degree from an accredited theological seminary along with completion of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education. It is highly preferred that the Chaplain be certified by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI) through the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or a similar group.
