About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Technical Accounting to take on a pivotal role in leading the reporting function and overseeing the collection, analysis, and dissemination of financial and operational data. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS, driving the annual budget process, and supporting forecasting activities. This role also involves acting as the primary contact for external audits, ensuring readiness for statutory reviews, and implementing improvements based on audit feedback. The Head of Technical Accounting will manage a small team, foster professional development, and collaborate cross-functionally to align financial reporting with strategic goals. Applicants for the Head of Technical Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with an MBA being preferred. A CPA and/or Chartered Accountant qualification is required, along with a minimum of 10 years' of accounting or audit experience, and at least 5 years' of managing a global team. In-depth knowledge of IFRS, technical accounting, and regulatory rules is essential, as is experience in the commodity trading industry. The role demands strong financial planning and analysis skills, including forecasting and cash flow, as well as a commitment to strong ethical standards and integrity. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
