RN (Summer Off Nights) - 5E Med/Surg

Job Description Sign-on Bonus Up to $20,000. Individuals within this job classification are accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care activities in accordance with OSUMC standards to deliver efficient, effective, and high‑quality patient care. The Registered Nurse (RN) must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care to patients on the assigned unit, understanding principles of growth and development over the life span, assessing patient data, and interpreting information to identify each patient’s needs. The RN plans and modifies the plan of care in accordance with OSUMC standards, following the Patient Care policies and procedures. The RN must adhere to the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act. This full‑time position qualifies the nurse for a Summers Off scheduling program: the nurse works at least 20 pay periods (each two weeks) with up to six pay periods off during the summer months. During the 20 pay periods, the nurse works seven shifts per two‑week pay period, allowing full‑time hours and sufficient PTO to cover benefits while off. At the end of the program, OSUMC may extend another term; if not extended, the schedule reverts to a normal schedule of three 12‑hour shifts per week.
