Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a compassionate and vigilant Registered Nurse to join our partner's Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Sierra Vista, AZ. This is a critical and rewarding role for a professional who is passionate about providing immediate post-operative care and ensuring patient safety during their most vulnerable moments.


Position Overview

As a PACU RN, you will be responsible for the immediate recovery care of the perioperative patient, from the moment they leave the operating room until they are stable enough for transfer. Your work is guided by the nursing process-a systematic approach of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care pertinent to each individual patient's needs. This role requires a skilled professional who can act quickly and decisively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and continuous post-operative care, including monitoring and managing patient airways, vital signs, and pain levels.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care pertinent to each patient's unique needs.
• Monitor for and manage potential complications and emergent situations in the post-anesthesia period.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless recovery process.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  
  
  • Must have an active Arizona or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience:
  
  
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience is preferred.
