We are seeking a highly analytical, strategic, and results-driven Principal Commissions Analyst to join our Global Field Compensation team. This role serves as the subject matter expert for sales incentive compensation and is responsible for leading complex commission initiatives, driving process improvements through automation and AI-enabled solutions, and ensuring the accuracy, scalability, and integrity of global commission operations. The Principal Commissions Analyst partners cross-functionally to identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and optimize the overall compensation administration process. The Principal Commissions Analyst will take ownership of high-impact projects, lead cross-functional initiatives, and partner closely with Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and Revenue Operations to support the design, implementation, and administration of global sales compensation programs. This individual is expected to work independently, influence stakeholders across the organization, and proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting. Key Responsibilities Commission Administration & Calculation Lead the administration and execution of complex sales commission calculations for multiple global compensation plans. Ensure accurate and timely commission payouts aligned with approved compensation plans, quotas, and business rules. Serve as the escalation point for complex commission calculations and policy interpretation. Lead cross-functional projects related to compensation plan implementation, system enhancements, process automation, and business integrations. Develop project plans, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders, identify risks, and ensure successful project delivery. Drive implementation of new compensation programs resulting from organizational changes, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives. Partner with business leaders to prioritize and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Lead reconciliation efforts across CRM, ERP, HRIS, and commission management platforms. Ensure data integrity through proactive validation, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. Develop scalable validation processes to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort. Reporting & Business Analysis Design and deliver executive-level commission reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics. Analyze commission trends, payout variances, and sales performance to provide actionable business insights. Present findings and recommendations to leadership to support strategic decision‑making. Process Improvement & Automation Identify opportunities to streamline commission processes through automation, standardization, and system optimization. Lead initiatives that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and data quality. Document business requirements and collaborate with technical teams during solution design, testing, and implementation. Leverage AI and intelligent tools to improve data validations, reconciliation, reporting, documentation and operational efficiency. Governance & Compliance Ensure commission processes comply with company policies, compensation plans, audit requirements, and applicable regulations. Establish and maintain strong governance, documentation, and audit controls. Recommend policy enhancements to strengthen operational consistency and reduce risk. Stakeholder Partnership Build trusted partnerships across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Revenue Operations, Payroll, and Legal. Provide expert guidance on commission policies, plan interpretation, and operational best practices. Lead discussions with senior stakeholders to resolve complex compensation issues and drive alignment. Lead investigations into complex commission inquiries and disputes. Perform detailed root cause analysis and recommend long‑term corrective actions. Communicate resolutions clearly and professionally while maintaining appropriate documentation. Systems Administration Act as a functional expert for commission management platforms and related systems. Partner with IT and system administrators to support upgrades, integrations, testing, and new functionality. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, and release management activities. Serve as a subject matter expert for global sales compensation processes and systems. Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts and team members. Champion best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the Global Field Compensation team. Lead by example through accountability, ownership, collaboration, and a customer‑focused mindset. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in sales compensation, commissions analysis, sales operations, finance, or a related analytical role. Demonstrated experience leading complex cross‑functional projects from planning through execution. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously. Proven ability to lead initiatives, influence without direct authority, and drive organizational change. Deep understanding of sales incentive compensation plans, quota management, and commission structures. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: Power Query Advanced formulas and data modeling Experience with commission management platforms such as: Xactly Forma.ai Experience with enterprise systems including: NetSuite HR Connect or similar HRIS platforms Experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as: Tableau Power BI Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience working with large, complex datasets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Experience supporting global sales organizations across multiple regions and time zones. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading global compensation system implementations or major enhancement projects. Knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, or other data querying tools.
