Senior Accountant, General Ledger

The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this individual will play a critical role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, annual audit, equity accounting, and continuous process improvement.The ideal candidate combines a strong technical accounting foundation with a passion for automation, operational excellence, and scalable processes. This role is defined for a high-performing accounting professional who is ready to develop into an Accounting Manager within the next few years.Location: San Francisco, CA (3 days/week in office—Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays). #LI-HybridWhat You'll DoPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses for assigned GL areas (fixed assets, prepaids, leases, accruals, intercompany)Own the equity roll-forward and stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718), partnering with Legal, HR, and CartaPrepare supporting schedules and footnotes for audited financial statementsServe as a primary point of contact for external auditors within your areasIdentify and drive process automation and close efficiency improvementsPartner cross-functionally with Revenue, Payroll, AP/AR, FP&A, and IT; mentor staff accountants as the team growsAbout YouBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred (or in progress)4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at a high-growth SaaS company2-4 years of Big Four experience strongly preferredStrong U.S. GAAP knowledge, including equity accounting, ASC 350-40, and ASC 842Experience with QuickBooks Online, Carta, and FloQast or BlackLineAdvanced Excel skills and comfort using AI/automation tools to improve accounting workflowsPreferred QualificationsExperience with NetSuite ERPExperience participating in a NetSuite implementation, ERP conversion, or financial systems transformation.Exposure to ASC 606 revenue recognition.IPO readiness or SOX experience is a plus.About PilotPilot launched in 2017 to bring the back office into the modern era. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data.
