Data Science Sr Director, Research Data Domain Lead

Amgen seeks a Senior Director to lead research data strategy and the Research Data Enablement Hub. This role drives enterprise data governance, establishes FAIR and AI-ready data practices, and aligns research data priorities with corporate strategy through matrix leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead Research Data Enablement Hub and execute the Research Data Domain Strategy with scientific and enterprise alignment
• Establish data governance framework, ownership models, and stewardship practices across Research subdomain network
• Prioritize and approve research data product portfolio focused on FAIR-aligned, reusable, and AI-ready assets
• Represent Research interests in enterprise governance forums and resolve cross-domain data decisions
• Drive organizational change toward robust data practices and data-driven decision-making culture

Requirements

• Scientific data fluency with deep understanding of research data ecosystems
• Enterprise and systems thinking with experience managing complex matrix organizations
• Proven track record leading data governance, stewardship, and domain strategy initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to build trusted relationships across complex organizations
• Experience translating business and scientific needs into data strategy and operational priorities
• Knowledge of data quality, FAIR principles, regulatory requirements, and data lifecycle management
