Post Anesthesia Recovery NurseWe are seeking an experienced Post Anesthesia Recovery Nurse to provide exceptional care in a dynamic environment. Ideal candidates should have comprehensive expertise in monitoring patients during recovery from anesthesia, including General, Regional, and Conscious Sedation recovery across all age groups and patient types.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and assess patient recovery from anesthesia, providing appropriate support and intervention as needed.Manage drains including Cranial, Spinal, Hemovacs, and Chest Tubes.Conduct airway management, including oropharyngeal airways, nasopharyngeal airways, endotracheal tubes, and extubation procedures.Administer and monitor ventilators, trach care, and endotracheal tube care.Perform hemodynamic monitoring and assess patient status.Recognize and manage complications such as Malignant Hyperthermia.Administer post-operative pain management, nausea control, and blood pressure medications.Understand and utilize medications involved in general anesthesia.Initiate and maintain intravenous therapy, including Heparin, Sedation, and Pressers.Provide fundal massages, manage post-partum hemorrhage, and respond to common obstetric complications.Conduct bladder irrigation maintenance.Monitor post-operative conditions and perform neuro assessments for carotid care, including sheath removal and site monitoring.QualificationsCurrent certifications: ACLS, PALS, and CPR.Demonstrated experience in Post Anesthesia Recovery with a focus on various surgical procedures.Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.Shift RequirementsThe position requires working three twelve-hour shifts per week in addition to participating in a rotating call schedule, which includes weeknight and weekend shifts. Candidates must be available to report to the unit within 30 minutes when called.Surgical Procedures InvolvedCommon surgical procedures include but are not limited to:Cranial, thoracotomies, and trauma procedures.Pediatric surgeries: tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, ear tube placement, and hernia repairs.OB/GYN surgeries: Cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and D&Cs.Cardiac surgeries: carotid procedures, vascular stents, and pacemakers.Orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures: joint replacements, fusions, and spinal surgeries.General surgeries: appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and exploratory laparotomies.Urological and plastic surgeries: nephrectomies and breast reconstructions.ENT procedures: biopsies and thyroid surgeries.PACU procedures: cardioversions and placement of lines and blocks.Client Details City Albany State GA
