Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting, including post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve, and combined CABG/valve procedures)
• Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
• Care for vascular surgery patients including peripheral bypasses and EVAR, as well as thoracic surgery patients (VATS)
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and required holiday coverage as scheduled
• Float within specialty, to sister units, and to lower acuity areas as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 or more years of CVICU and/or open heart experience
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Ability to float within scope with no restrictions
• Compliance with onboarding requirements, including lab completion within 72 hours of contract signing and submission of all compliance documents at least 5 days prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with open heart surgery patient populations and high-acuity cardiovascular care
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
• Familiarity with travel nursing compliance processes and onboarding requirements
