Remote IP Network Engineer ITEKsystems is seeking an IP Network Engineer I for our Anchorage, Alaska-based client.This resource will work remotely during typical daytime business hours in the Alaska time zone, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.Are you passionate about networking and eager to grow your career in a carrier-grade telecommunications environment? We're looking for an IP Network Engineer I to help support, implement, and maintain large-scale network infrastructure while gaining hands-on experience with advanced IP networking technologies.This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in IP/MPLS networks, carrier Ethernet, and next-generation telecom technologies while working alongside experienced network engineers.What You'll DoSupport the implementation, maintenance, and operation of IP/MPLS network infrastructureAssist with testing and validating network technologies and configurations in lab and production environmentsParticipate in network upgrades, deployments, and documentation effortsTroubleshoot network issues and work with senior engineers to resolve complex problemsCollaborate with network operations and engineering teams to help maintain reliable and scalable network servicesMonitor network performance and assist with identifying opportunities for improvementWhat You Bring4-5 years of experience in networking, telecommunications, ISP, or carrier Ethernet environmentsFoundational understanding of IP networking concepts and network engineering principlesHands on experience working with routers and switches, preferably Nokia/Alcatel platformKnowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, or IS-ISFamiliarity with MPLS concepts and carrier networking technologiesUnderstanding of Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, STP, and LACPStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work remotely and collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentEagerness to learn new technologies and grow within a network engineering career pathNice to HaveAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related fieldNokia NRS I certification or other entry-level networking certifications (CCNA, JNCIA, etc.)Exposure to data center networking and transport technologies such as fiber, microwave, or cellular networksExperience working in a service provider or telecommunications environmentWhy This RoleGain hands-on experience supporting carrier-grade, mission-critical networksWork with advanced telecom and networking technologiesLearn from experienced engineers in a collaborative environmentOpportunity to grow into more advanced engineering and technical leadership rolesBuild a strong foundation in service provider networking and IP/MPLS technologiesJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
