About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 years ICU experience required. Preferred: 1.5 years MICU experience. If less than 2 years, Level I experience is required. Must have experience in a 20+ bed ICU. License: Pending licenses accepted. Certifications: ACLS required. BLS required. Must-Have: Competence in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with pressor support, ETT, trachs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care. Competence in sterile techniques such as line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, and bronchoscopy. Description: This position involves working in a Medical Intensive Care Unit. Ratios will be 1:2. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Clinicians may float within the scope to meet facility needs. First-time travelers are accepted. Will need to pass an EKG exam. Preferred skills include experience with CRRT, Swan Ganz, inhaled, and IV Flolan. Additional competencies include the management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. The daily census in the unit is approximately 41 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services and pharmacy. Patient age groups will be adults. The unit has a total of 42 beds. All RNs are required to obtain ACLS certification. Modules may be required before starting the assignment. All travelers must have facial hair that allows for proper fit testing, or they will be expected to shave.
