Facilities Supervisor

Job Title: Facilities Operations Supervisor – Custodial Services Location: Cambridge, MA (Onsite) Duration: 18-Month Contract Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day custodial operations across assigned campus buildings and facilities Lead, coach, and support custodial staff to ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to performance standards Plan, assign, and monitor routine cleaning, specialty cleaning, event support, and emergency response activities Conduct regular inspections to ensure facilities meet cleanliness, safety, and operational standards Monitor work quality and productivity while implementing corrective actions as needed Coordinate staffing schedules, overtime, shift coverage, and resource allocation to meet operational requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building occupants, and campus stakeholders regarding custodial services Respond promptly to customer requests, complaints, and service issues while ensuring timely resolution Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental health and safety standards, university policies, and industry best practices Maintain accurate operational records, reports, work orders, inspections, and staffing documentation Collaborate with facilities maintenance, grounds, event services, public safety, and other campus departments to support campus operations Assist with budget monitoring, inventory control, procurement of supplies, and equipment management Support special projects, seasonal operations, campus events, and emergency response activities as required Participate in employee training, onboarding, performance evaluations, and workforce development initiatives Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred 3+ years of supervisory experience in custodial services, facilities management, building operations, or institutional maintenance environment Experience managing union and/or non‑union workforces preferred Strong knowledge of custodial operations, cleaning methods, equipment, and facility service standards Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, and compliance requirements Experience with work order management systems, facility management software, or CMMS platform Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and conflict‑resolution skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting higher education, healthcare, government, commercial real estate, or large institutional facilities Knowledge of sustainable cleaning practices and environmental compliance standards Bilingual communication skills are a plus Experience managing large‑scale campus or multi‑building operations #J-18808-Ljbffr The Judge Group
