About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (645a-715p, every other weekend) Experience: Two (2) years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Two (2) years acute inpatient PCU RN experience, Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are a priority. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. The role promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises both licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is essential. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus is placed on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are components of the role. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support patient and family needs. Evaluation: Monitors and documents the response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
