Account Executive, Public Relations

Location: NYC Preferred FINN Partners is seeking applicants interested in joining our health practice, supporting clients across pharmaceutical, medtech, health advocacy/non-profit and other leading healthcare organizations. Weekly work schedule is up to 3 weekdays in-office and balance of weekdays working from home remotely. Qualified current metro-NYC area public relations applicants are preferred for this role. Ideal candidates will have 1.5 to 2 years of public relations work experience, preferably working on communications campaigns for health clients, though experience in other industries is also valued. This is a full-time, hourly position (approximately 40 hours per week). This is not a sales position. This full-time position offers terrific benefits and perks: Generous vacation, personal, holiday, and sick days off; up to 5 winter break paid days off between Christmas and New Year’s Day; up to 5 additional summer days off Travel and consumer discounts (from rental cars to cell phones and more) Wellness subsidy 401K Plan Outstanding insurance/benefits package Career mentorship from the best PR pros in the business Professional growth opportunities within our award-winning global PR agency Now that we’ve (hopefully) sold you on us, let’s talk about this role and our team: Responsibilities: Draft and distribute pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, and other health communications materials Write, proofread, and edit client-related documents, including pitches, press materials, news releases, and other editorial content Curate and develop comprehensive, targeted media lists, actively pitch media and secure earned media coverage Support client media briefings, events, speaking opportunities and develop award submissions Develop relationships with external audiences, including media, event organizers, advocacy contacts, and third-party stakeholders, to support client messaging Drive day-to-day social media execution and campaign planning across client channels, including maintaining content calendars, drafting post copy, monitoring community engagement, and reporting on performance to support overall strategy Monitor, track and report coverage of client news and competitor developments across channels and platforms Research key client topics to develop landscape analyses, media insights and identity thought leadership opportunities Provide account management support, including participation in client meetings; agenda and recap development, tracker management and meeting internal and external deadlines Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism, public health or related field Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced through completed college coursework, internships, or related work experience Prior work experience and PR internships in public relations or communications role A motivated, self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines Strong written, verbal and storytelling skills Knowledge of social media tools and design platforms such as Canva, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram Experience with research and measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is a plus Our ideal teammate: Goes above and beyond: Strong problem-solving skills and a personal commitment to enhancing efficiency and exceeding expectations, benefiting both the agency and its clients Shoots to amaze: self-initiated behavior that takes accountability and responsibility and acts proactively; willingness to raise their hand for new challenges and come to the table with new ideas Has curiosity: Possesses a strong desire to immerse yourself in the health sector and deepen your understanding and knowledge of public relations Is passionate about making a difference: Dedicate your time to a cause larger than yourself - our role is to provide patients, caregivers, and health care providers with valuable information Thinks outside of the box: Curious, open-minded and never satisfied with the status quo; always looking for ways to improve and optimize for our team and clients Works hard, plays nice: friendly, driven, curious, excited, eager to learn and have a positive attitude Finn Partners is the fastest-growing integrated marketing firm in the United States and was recently named “2025 30 Best Healthcare PR Agencies in the World” and has been awarded “Best Agencies to Work For” for four consecutive years by PRovoke, the PR industry’s de facto authority. Anticipated Salary: $66,000 - $68,000 for this full-time, exempt, direct hire position. Salary is commensurate with experience and dependent upon the location.
