Job Overview Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Stepdown | Work Hours: 7a-7p | Weekend Requirements: One | 0.9 FTE Job Summary Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Job Responsibilities Perform functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team. Assess learning needs of patient and family and provide education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn. Perform job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under general supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization. Position Requirements Work Experience: No experience required. Education: Associate's degree or higher or diploma in nursing required upon hire AND Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing required within 5 years of employment in this position. Additional Education: None. Licensure / Certification / Registration RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire. BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position.
