Vice President, Performing Credit Research About the Company Expanding investment management firm Industry Investment Management Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Vice President for Performing Credit Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth, fundamental credit research on performing issuers within the leveraged loan and high-yield bond markets. This role is pivotal in supporting portfolio managers with idea generation, underwriting, and the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining detailed financial models, analyzing capital structures and credit documentation, developing investment theses, and preparing written credit memos. The role also involves monitoring existing positions, tracking news and compliance, and proactively identifying risks. The VP will have direct exposure to investment decision-making and will work closely with trading, risk, and portfolio teams to contribute to position sizing, timing, and portfolio construction. Applicants for the Vice President position should have 2-6+ years of experience in fundamental credit research, investment banking, private credit, or buy-side credit investing. A strong understanding of leveraged finance products, capital structures, and credit documentation is essential, as is advanced financial modeling skills for analyzing various scenarios. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment in assessing risk/reward and the ability to identify asymmetric opportunities in performing credit. Clear and concise communication of investment views, both in writing and verbally, is required. The role demands a highly detail-oriented, intellectually curious individual who is comfortable in a fast-paced investment environment and is adept at working with portfolio managers, traders, and risk teams.
