Cayuga Health's commitment to our employees includes competitive compensation, comprehensive employee benefits programs, and the opportunity to explore and build a career in healthcare through our many professional development programs.Provides clinical support to all providers, the clinical staff and patients of the Oncology Service line.Roles and Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, obtain vital signs, and assess lab results for all patients.Administer chemotherapy and/or biotherapy per MD orders, ensuring confirmation of dosing based on the most recent labs and weight.Perform checks on treatment orders and medications, collaborating with a second RN or pharmacy for verification.Monitor for adverse effects or infusion-related reactions, responding appropriately, and managing side effects while providing education on proper self-care during treatment.Provide patient-specific education, including chemotherapy teaching sessions and regimen treatment plans and schedules.Utilize a multidisciplinary team to address patient-specific needs, report any concerns to the provider, and review previous treatment and recent provider notes to ensure appropriate regimens and labs are reviewed prior to treatment.Required Skills and Experience:Associates of applied science of nursing from accredited institutionNYS Registered Nurse licensurePreferred Skills and Experience:Minimum of 1-year med/surg nursing experience.Chemo experiencePhysical Requirements:Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.Location and Travel Requirements:OnsitePay Range Disclosure:$38.63 to 47.18 per hourCayuga Health System and its affiliates are committed to treating all patients, providers, staff and volunteers equitably and with dignity, ensuring the highest levels of safety, care and respect, and striving to recognize and overcome biases and policies that contribute to disparities in healthcare access, equitable care and positive health outcomes for all.We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, supporting the growth and health of our employees and community by embracing the rich diversity, needs and circumstances of all peoples and prioritizing opportunities to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.
