Vice President Pre-Analytical Automation

Compensation: Executive-level (Base + Bonus + Equity) The Role This is an executive leadership role focused on the automation and operational design of the pre-laboratory workflow. Unlike traditional laboratory automation positions focused on liquid handlers, analytical instrumentation, or sequencing platforms, this role is responsible for everything that happens before a specimen reaches the analytical laboratory. Areas of responsibility Specimen receipt and intake Kit opening and accessioning Chain of custody management Material handling and routing Conveyor and transport systems Automated sorting and workflow orchestration Throughput optimisation and operational scalability Vendor selection, RFP management, and implementation oversight The successful individual will help shape a highly automated environment capable of supporting significant future growth while maintaining quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. The Ideal Profile We are interested in speaking with senior leaders who combine operational leadership with a strong engineering mindset. Candidates may come from: High-throughput clinical laboratory environments Molecular diagnostics or genomics organisations Automated logistics, fulfilment, parcel processing, or distribution operations Other highly regulated, high-volume processing environments The strongest candidates will have: Experience implementing automation at scale Ownership of major vendor selection and deployment projects A track record of building teams and operational infrastructure The ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution Experience operating in fast-growth or build-from-scratch environments Why This Role This is an opportunity to help create what could become one of the most advanced specimen processing operations in precision medicine.
