Description: This position involves providing direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The role requires monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort. The RN will perform duties within the scope of nursing preparation and established guidelines. Professional accountability for patient care is essential. The RN must evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordination of patient care with various departments is required. Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information is critical. The role involves significant amounts of bending, stooping, and lifting patients with assistance. The RN may work differing schedules, shifts, and days of the week according to patient care requirements. Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk. The position requires physical demands such as pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs. The RN will utilize the nursing process to provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities. The RN should perform duties in a manner consistent with established mission and values.
