Medical Assistant-Certified

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) provides clinical and administrative support in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting. This role involves performing vital signs, preparing patients for exams, administering injections, conducting laboratory tests, and assisting with office duties such as chart preparation and telephone triage. The MA-C collaborates with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient care and requires reliable transportation and flexibility to float between clinic locations as needed. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential (Medical Assistant-Registered, Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist, or Medical Assistant-Hemodialysis Technician not accepted).
• Minimum 6 months experience as an MA-C in adult/pediatric outpatient clinic setting preferred; cardiology experience preferred.
• Proficiency in obtaining vital signs, EKGs, and administering injections.
• Experience with laboratory testing such as blood glucose measurement.
• Basic knowledge of clinical office duties including chart preparation and telephone triage.
• Reliable personal transportation (public transportation not acceptable).
• Ability to work with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in a cardiology outpatient clinic.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record software.

Special Considerations:

• This is a temporary-to-hire position with a 13-week contract and possible permanent placement.
• Floating between multiple clinic locations (First Hill, Ravenna, Canyon Park) may be required but not daily.
• No weekend or on-call shifts required.
• Scrub color is solid dark with no prints.

Scheduling:

• Standard schedule is four 8-hour shifts per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (8:00 am 4:30 pm).
• Tuesday shifts (7:30 am 4:00 pm) may be added if needed to cover schedule gaps.
• Shift times may vary slightly depending on clinic start times and staffing needs.
• Weekends and holidays are off.
