Accounting Assistant

Seeking an Accounting Assistant for a well-established company!


Job duties include:

• Will be responsible for all accounts payables and receivables activities
• Will process vendor invoices, verify invoices, purchase orders and payment requests
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain organized AP files and records
• Will prepare and issue customer invoices, process customer payments and apply payments to accounts
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past due accounts
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
• Assist with monthly AR reporting and collections
• Assist with monthly bank and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Generate financial reports as requested
• Answer vendor and customer inquiries, assist with audits and other accounting projects

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
• Experience with payroll processing is a plus
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems
• Strong math skills, organization and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
