About Us

Old Cutler Inn is a modern American restaurant and bar rooted in the heart of Palmetto Bay. Originally established in the 1920s as Snowden's, our historic venue sits across from the iconic Deering Estate and has been reimagined by new ownership as a warm, community-driven destination. We serve wood-fired dishes, fresh seafood, handmade pastas, premium steaks, craft cocktails, and more... across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, seven days a week.

We're not a chain. We're a neighborhood institution in the making, and we're looking for a General Manager who feels that difference.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, people-first General Manager to lead daily operations at Old Cutler Inn. This person will be the face of the restaurant to both our guests and our team... setting the tone for hospitality, accountability, and excellence in everything we do. You'll work closely with ownership and our culinary leadership to build a culture that keeps guests coming back and staff wanting to stay.

What You'll Own

- Lead and inspire a front-of-house team across all day parts... breakfast, lunch, dinner, and private events

- Drive guest satisfaction and resolve issues with professionalism, warmth, and speed

- Oversee daily operations including opening/closing procedures, floor management, and service execution

- Manage labor scheduling, payroll, and cost controls to meet financial targets

- Partner with the Executive Chef on menu rollouts, staff training, and kitchen-to-floor communication

- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop FOH staff — building a team that reflects our hospitality values

- Manage vendor relationships, inventory, and purchasing for front-of-house needs

- Oversee private dining and special event coordination from booking through execution

- Monitor and respond to online reviews (Yelp, Google) to protect and grow our reputation

- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations

- Report directly to ownership with weekly performance updates, P&L insights, and operational priorities

What We're Looking For

- 5–8 years of General Manager experience in a full-service, independent, or upscale-casual restaurant environment

- Proven track record managing FOH teams in a multi-daypart operation

- Strong financial acumen... comfortable owning labor costs, food costs, and P&L conversations

- Hands-on, floor-present leadership style, not a back-office manager

- Experience with Toast POS and reservation platforms (Resy or similar)

- Genuine passion for hospitality and community, you remember regulars' names and their usual orders

- Strong communicator who can hold the team accountable while keeping morale high

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus given our South Florida community

- Food Handler or ServSafe Manager certification required
