Senior Purchasing Agent

Are you an experienced Electrical Purchasing / Procurement professional who knows the difference between simply placing an order and strategically managing the entire procurement process? Our well-established, electrical contractor is looking for a Senior Electrical Purchasing Agent to play a critical role in supporting complex automotive, heavy industrial, and mission-critical electrical construction projects. This is an opportunity to join a growing electrical contractor where your purchasing expertise directly impacts project cost, schedule, and success! 10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within electrical or construction industry. Strong knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement practices. Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or automotive construction projects preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with ERP or purchasing systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accountability. What You'll Be Doing: Lead purchasing and procurement activities for electrical construction projects. Review project drawings, specifications, and material requests to ensure accurate purchasing. Generate, manage, and track purchase orders in alignment with project budgets and schedules. Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality materials. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with suppliers. Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, and field leadership regarding material requirements and lead times. Monitor material deliveries and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies. Track procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and suppliers. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Support forecasting of material needs across active projects. Assist in developing and improving purchasing processes and standards. $80K - $120K Base Salary (Depending on Experience Level & Years Experience) Periodic "Cost of Living" Raises PTO (3 Weeks Right Off the Bat!)
