Job Description PRN day shift position. Overview Part and full‑time roles are eligible for a $30,000 sign‑on bonus. The position is intended for upcoming or recent nurse graduates. Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals. The Hospital‑Based Outpatient Oncology/Non‑Oncology Infusion Unit is a specialized treatment area designed to provide safe, efficient, and patient‑centered infusion therapy for individuals requiring both oncology and non‑oncology infusion services. Unit features six infusion chairs, each equipped to support a wide range of intravenous therapies and supportive care treatments. Services include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapy, IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, blood product administration, therapeutic injections, and symptom‑management interventions. All treatments are administered by oncology‑trained registered nurses who follow evidence‑based guidelines, specialized medication‑handling procedures, and continuous patient‑monitoring practices. The care team collaborates closely with oncology providers, primary care physicians, specialists, and pharmacists to ensure coordinated treatment planning and continuity across the patient's care journey. The environment is designed to promote comfort, safety, and privacy while maintaining efficient patient flow. Within the department, nurses are required to obtain a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certificate within 6 months of hire and an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification within three years of hire. Qualifications Requires 1 year RN experience. Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must be an active Registered Nurse (RN) license holder in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program, or if not, have more than two years of acute care experience subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer. Basic Life Support certification through the AHA required. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
