Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room environment, supporting various surgical procedures including orthopedics, vascular, gynecology, and robotic surgeries. Deliver safe, efficient care while adhering to hospital protocols and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams by handing instruments and anticipating their needs during surgeries.
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout procedures, ensuring patient stability.
• Document all surgical and perioperative activities accurately in the Meditech system.
• Follow safety protocols and dress code standards, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care before, during, and after surgeries.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with at least 2 years of perioperative or OR experience.
• Strong vascular skills and proficiency with Meditech charting system required.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and anesthesia support.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
• Must be adaptable to a 2-6 days per month call schedule.
