At Sankofa, the Shift Manager runs the floor, sets the tone, and makes sure every guest interaction meets our standard. You’ll lead 3–4 team members per shift, own the guest experience, coach in real time, and keep the store ready from open to close. Now hiring for our Northfield and DTC locations. IS THIS THE RIGHT FIT? You lead from the front — you’re in the rush with your team, not calling plays from the sideline. You bring steady energy on slow days and rushes. You own your outcomes instead of waiting to be told what to do next. You make the call when the answer isn’t obvious, and you own what comes from it. You can commit to weekends and holidays. This role is not for you if: You manage by announcement and check in after the fact. Your mood becomes the team’s problem. Accountability feels like pressure instead of ownership. You need everything spelled out before you’ll act. You only lead when someone’s watching. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Every shift, you own the floor. You’ll run the huddle, position the team, protect the guest experience, coach in the moment, correct drift before it compounds, make it right when something goes wrong, and leave the store ready for the next shift. You’ll also communicate issues early — store needs, team member performance, guest concerns, maintenance, or anything leadership needs to know. WHAT WE EXPECT: Prior supervisory or shift leadership experience in a fast-paced environment; QSR strongly preferred. ServSafe Manager Certificate required before running solo shifts. You do not need it on day one if you are otherwise a strong fit. Weekend and holiday availability required. Reliable attendance: showing up as scheduled, communicating early when issues arise, and following attendance expectations. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Top candidates have led under pressure, coached in real time, made decisions without perfect information, and held standards without needing someone watching. WHAT YOU’LL EARN: Base pay starts at $21.27/hr plus tips. Raises are tied to certification gates and performance benchmarks, not tenure. SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY: Shifts include opens, mids, and closes. Weekend availability is required. Part-time and full-time roles are available, with a minimum of 20 hours per week.
